I Got The De-Clutter Bug, And I Got It Bad
Turns out, one organizational change can spawn another. I've started looking at our whole apartment with my pare-down eye and the kitchen has been on my hit list for awhile. I was sick of not being able to find stuff and I thought my husband might blow a gasket if another plastic container fell on his head from a high shelf (yes that was a frequent occurrence). But I knew I needed some help, so I called in the big guns, my friend and professional organizer extraordinaire Dayna Brandoff of Chaos Theory. Ironically, she was recommended years ago by my therapist when my closet in my old apartment was causing me stress. I'm never giving her up!
Her approach? We had to take EVERYTHING out of all cabinets. Then, we went through it all and made STAY or GO piles. (The GO pile was horrifying btw). Finally, we made decisions about what items needed prominent placement and which could go other places or in storage until needed for entertaining or other occasions. It all made so much sense! Here's a little piece of our day.
And here's a little bit of what hit the road...literally. Please, don't show this to my husband! He has attachment issues...
